The Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold has petitioned the Attorney General’s Office to investigate the reported sale of frozen properties of CEO of defunct Menzgold Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM1.
The petition, filed on Tuesday April 16, 2024 questions the alleged sale of properties formerly owned by NAM1 which were confiscated by law enforcement agencies, including the Economic and Organized Crime Office, EOCO.
The Coalition is calling for investigation into how NAM1 allegedly managed to sell off the listed properties despite a court order freezing disposition of the properties. The properties listed in the petition and alleged to have been sold off in spite of the Court order include Zylofone Media and Zylofone Arts Complex, Brew Marketing Consult at Kasoa Ofaakor and Richester Hotel, located at East Legon in Accra.
The customers say they are appalled by the act of impunity on the part of NAM1 and Menzgold over the alleged sale of those properties. NAM1 is currently facing 39 counts of defrauding by false pretense, inducing the public to invest and money laundering.
