Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has assured Ghanaians that there will be a bumper harvest this year.
In his speech at the 38th National Farmers Day celebration at the Eastern regional capital Koforidua.
According to him, his tour of the regions of Ghana ahead of Farmers Day affirms that Ghana’s food security is strong.
“Mr. President, in keeping with our strategy of regular annual engagement with farmers and other stakeholders. We have already embarked on a field visit to 10 regions this year in the southern and middle belts of this country. These visits provide me and the ministry with direct information to fully assess and priority for policy direction. From the field visit so far my assessment is, on the going harvest will be good”, he stated.
The Agric Minister commended the gallant Farmers for their contribution to the success story of food security in Ghana.
