The Ghana Police Service has arrested former worker of Tiger Eye PI, Daniel Owusu Koranteng, as a suspect in connection with the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

Koranteng, also known as Akwasi Amakye, is accused of sharing photos of the late journalist with a well-known politician before his tragic death in 2019.

Reports indicate that Amakye was a close friend of Suale and often visited him at his home in Madina.

Authorities say he fled to the UK when investigations began but recently returned to Ghana secretly. He was arrested at Amasaman-Adease.

His arrest follows new information uncovered by the FBI in the USA, including phone records showing calls between him and Suale just days before the journalist was killed.

Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot dead near his family home in Madina on January 16, 2019. He was known for working with the BBC on an investigative report that exposed corruption in African football.
