President Akufo-Addo attends memorial service for late Amma Busia

President Akufo-Addo today joined mourners at the memorial service for the former first Vice-chairperson of the New Patriotic Party, Ama Busia.

The service, held at Ablemkpe in Accra, was led by the Methodist Church.

President Akufo-Addo arrived at the venue with his wife, Rebecca.

Other notable members of the NPP present were the Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his wife, Samira, the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare and bigwigs of the ruling party.

The sister of the late Kofi Abrefa Busia, who served as Ghana’s Prime Minister in the Second Republic, Ama Busia passed away on Tuesday 12th December 2023 after a short illness.

Amma Busia was a member of the NPP Council of Elders and the sister of the late Kofi Abrefa Busia died peacefully at the Nyaho Medical Centre in the early hours of December 12, according to her family, Amma Busia died at the age of 87.
