The President, Nana Akufo-Addo inaugurated a multi-purpose Agenda 111 District Hospital at Drobonso, the capital of the Sekyere Afram Plains District of Ashanti.

The facility is among 18 others in the Ashanti region to be undertaken under the government ambitious Agenda 111 healthcare project to enhance healthcare delivery in Ghana, especially the rural and deprived communities.

The enthusiasm demonstrated to embrace the facility by the people in the newly created deprived predominantly farming district was a dream come true.

The facility is being stocked with all the necessary equipment to qualify it as a District Hospital. The Chief of Drobonso, Nana Dwubi Dwamena was grateful for the facility.

He appealed to the government to help address poor road network and beefing up security in the district.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensa said the new District has had its fair share of infrastructure and that there is still more to be done to meet the people’s expectations.

He therefore asked the people to renew the NPP administration to continue with the development projects.

Nana Akufo Addo said the Agenda 111 programme was the brain child of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during the peak of the Covid 19 pandemic.

He described the vision and vision of Bawumia as unprecedented and therefore asked the people to vote for him and the Parliamentary Candidates to address the developmental challenges of the area.

The President inaugurated four of the completed Agenda 111 at Sabronom, Twedie and Suame. He is also expected to inaugurate the Atafua bridge on the Kumasi -Barekese Highway.
