In a key step for Ghana’s democracy, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will give President-elect John Dramani Mahama a tour of the Jubilee House on Monday, January 6, 2025.
This symbolic gesture highlights Ghana’s commitment to peaceful political transitions as the country prepares for the official handover ceremony on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
President-elect Mahama will be joined by Vice President-elect Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang. She will also get familiar with her upcoming official working space.
The tour will cover introductions to key staff, briefings on ongoing projects, and a review of important facilities.
President Akufo-Addo’s term will officially end on January 7, 2025, when John Mahama will be sworn in as Ghana’s new president. The inauguration ceremony is expected to attract heads of state, dignitaries, and other prominent guests.
This event marks another milestone in Ghana’s reputation for smooth and peaceful transfers of power.
