Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye has been inducted into office as the 6th Chairman of the Church of Pentecost. He succeeds Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah, the former Chairman of the Church after being elected as Chairman in May.
Speaking at the induction ceremony at Pentecost International Worship Center(PIWC), Atomic, on August 25, the immediate- past chairman, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah asked the congregation to see Jesus as God in human form, the one who died and resurrected and revealed himself to people before ascending to heaven.
“For a Christian to acknowledge the Glorified Jesus, he must always be available to receive from him always that is why he should not destroy the body with immorality, alcohol and tramadol,” he added.
He called on all members to wholeheartedly accept the new chairman as a servant of God, support, respect, pray for him and submit to his authority and shouldn’t criticize him as some did to him in his tenure of office.
The ceremony also saw the induction of Apostle Alexander N.Y Kumi-Larbi and Apostle O.P Zabre as the General Secretary and Executive Member respectively for a second term of office.
It also inducted into service Apostles Daniel Okyere Walker, Samuel S. Y Antwi and Prophet David Kankam Beditor as new Executive Members of the Church.
Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye was born on October 21, 1965 in Asokore-Asanti. He completed Tema Secondary School and proceeded to Nyankpla Agric College in the Northern Region where he obtained a certificate in General Agriculture in 1986. He also holds a diploma in Human Resource Management, UK, a post graduate Diploma in Applied Theology from the University of Manchester, U.K and a Master of Arts Degree in Religious Studies from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is currently a PhD student at the Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
Apostle Eric Nyamekye is married to Mary and together are blessed with six children.
