Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Benito Owusu-Bio, says the Appiatse disaster has seen regulations on the transportation of explosives reinforced.
He said currently there is a ban on the transportation of Ammonium Nitrate and Fuel Oil on public roads to a mine or civil work site.
Speaking to GBC News on the commemoration of the first anniversary of the disaster, Mr. Owusu-Bio, said the transportation of explosives is always done with escort, adding the Chief Inspector of Mines is notified within forty-eight hours before any scheduled transportation of explosives to ensure right processes are followed through.
