Minister of Works and Housing Francis Asenso Boakye says his Ministry will fully support the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in demolishing all the four hundred (400) structures constructed on waterways to reduce perennial flooding.

Other MMDCES will equally be supported to carry similar measures to rid the cities and towns of flooding.

Mr. Asenso Boakye disclosed this to the media after ending a three-day working visit to the Ashanti region.

He was impressed at efforts by the local bricks and tile industry to produce more to reduce the high cost of building construction in the country.

Correspondent Thomas Nsowah-Adjei reports that some of the floodings are a result of indiscriminate disposal of solid waste especially at the upstream of the Owabi dam that supply treated water to some parts of the Kumasi metropolis.
