President John Dramani Mahama has terminated the appointment of Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh from his position as Director-General of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The announcement was contained in a letter signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, the Executive Secretary to the President.
Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh has been instructed to hand over his duties to Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, who will serve as the Acting Director-General of the SEC.
Although the letter did not give reasons for the dismissal, the Commission is expected to ensure stability in Ghana’s capital markets as Dr. Avedzi takes over leadership.
