Financial Crime Consultant, Richard Kumadoe has waded into the conversation of the Bank of Ghana being a security zone and stated that it is rather a sensitive zone and not a security zone.

According to him, unlike the Burma camp where security activities go on consistently, the Bank of Ghana is a place where Individuals can enter and will be attended to.

He said its position as the central Bank of Ghana does not posit it as a security zone. In a call interview with GTV’s Breakfast show, he mentioned that the Bank of Ghana is a sensitive zone because of the activities that go on there and the institutions around it.

He maintained that, claims by the Ghana Police was just to ward off protestors from entering the premises of the Bank of Ghana because of uncertainties.

He further mentioned that, in a sensitive place like Bank of Ghana, flexibility is given while security places are non-permissible.

“In a security zone, it is a non-permissible area for people without legislation,” he mentioned during the interview. “Anybody at all can walk to Bank of Ghana,” he added.

He therefore opined that the protestors should have been allowed to read their petition to the Governor as he appear and then the petition is handed over to the head of security for peace to reign.
