The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga has donated thousand (1000) bags of cement and twenty-nine (29) packets of roofing sheets to individuals who suffered various forms of devastations as a result of the recent floods across the Upper East Region which affected parts of the Bawku Central constituency.
Some individuals in the constituency had parts of their buildings partially or completely collapsed while others had their roofs ripped off by rainstorms and windstorms.
Some schools in the constituency have also been given bags of cement to help continue ongoing projects and some maintenance in the selected schools.
A total of five hundred and forty (540) bags of cement have been delivered to Baribari, Buabula, Mognori and Lalsa for school projects.
Mr. Mahama Ayariga has also made available seventy-five (75) bags of cement to the Gozesi community to help in the ongoing bridge construction projects.
The MP for the area has also donated seventy-five (75) bags of cement to the Bugri Conner community to help in the construction of a teachers’ quarters to ease the problem of accommodation for teachers.
The recipients of the materials were full of joy and lauded the MP for the gesture. The beneficiaries described the move as timely and pledged to renew his mandate as the MP for the area in the 2020 general elections.
The Bawku Central constituency chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mohammed Awindago Ndeego and his team of constituency executives made the donations on behalf of the MP.
