The Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, says the government over the past seven years, has created two point one million jobs both in the public and private sectors in the last seven years.
He said this during his nationwide campaign tour in the Eastern Region.
The Presidential Aspirant of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, started the tour at Akropong, where he had a breakfast meeting with the leadership of faith-based groups in the Akwapim North Municipality.
Addressing the leadership, Dr. Bawumia hinted that the available data shows that over nine hundred and twenty-five thousand jobs in the private sector and one point two million jobs in the public sector have been created.
At Nkurakan Market, Koforidua Magazine, Juaben Serwaa Market, Main Central Market, Dr. Bawumia met and interacted with the market women, drivers, and spare parts dealers.
During his port of call at the Residency, where he had engagement with the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, Dr. Bawumia envisioned that he was aiming for a country that is not only industrialised but digitised.
Dr. Bawumia mentioned that the government is aware of the current power outages in the country, and they are working assiduously to solve the issue within two weeks.
The Deputy Eastern Regional House of Chiefs and the Kwahumanhene, Nana Akuamoah Boateng, noted that the traditional leaders will continue to contribute their quota to the development of the country. He advised politicians to respect the views of their political opponents as campaign season approaches.
