In a firm show of support for national security, the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to strengthening border security and enhancing the operational capacity of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

Speaking at the commissioning of a newly constructed office building and the official donation of a Nissan pick-up vehicle to the GIS in Mampong, the Minister underscored the critical importance of safeguarding Ghana’s borders. He described border security as a top priority in the government’s national security agenda.

Hon. Muntaka highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of security personnel across the country. He stressed the importance of investing in modern infrastructure, continuous capacity building, and the provision of advanced equipment and logistics to empower the GIS in executing its duties effectively.

“This government remains fully committed to ensuring that our security agencies, particularly those at the forefront of border management, are well-resourced and supported to meet modern security challenges,” the Minister stated.

The new office and vehicle are expected to boost the efficiency and morale of immigration officers in the Mampong area and contribute to broader efforts aimed at enhancing security and surveillance along Ghana’s borders.
