Director-General, Legal and Prosecution of the Police Service, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, says the Police are making frantic efforts to arrest those who robbed a bullion van in Accra killing a Policeman and a hawker in the process.

He said such crimes require a paradigm shift in addressing security challenges and guaranteeing the safety and security of Ghanaians.

COP Boakye said this at the passing out of 320 recruits at the Police Training School at Patasi in Kumasi.

The Director-General for Legal and Prosecution of the Police Service, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye said recent criminal activities perpetrated by a network of criminal gangs have not only shaken the foundation of the country but also threatened its peaceful international accolade.

There is therefore the need for a new paradigm shift to address all the challenges and guarantee the safety and security of the people.

COP Kofi Boakye advised the recruits not to see the profession as a sanctuary to make unjustified wealth. He urged them to desist from corrupt practices which have the tendency to bring the image of the Service into disrepute.

He also advised them to display patriotism, humility, courtesy, honesty and civility at all times. The recruits made a spectacular display in drills, slow and quick march.

Some outstanding recruits were honoured with a plaque, 500 cedis each, and insurance of 100,000 cedis for a period of one year.
