The 2021 Annual Internal Audit Conference has ended with a call on government to repeal or amend the law on public sector internal audit practice in Ghana.
The amendment is expected to transform the Internal Audit Agency into the Internal Audit Service.
Director-General of the Agency Dr. Eric Oduro-Osae said government is taking steps to rationalize the internal Audit law in the next 12 months.
Dr. Oduro-Osae said the Agency has saved the country in excess of 200 million Ghana cedis, adding that infractions reported in the Auditor General’s report could have been higher.
