The Ashanti Regional Manager of the Bible Society of Ghana, Mr. Samuel Adu-Amoah has admonished Ghanaians, particularly those in authority to eschew negative tendencies that retrogress the nation and rather demonstrate a genuine commitment to national duty. Mr. Adu-Amoah gave the advice at a symposium in Kumasi christened “The Bible and Integrity” to mark this year’s Bible Week.

Razak Baba reports that the Bible Society of Ghana is a member of the worldwide fellowship of the United Bible Societies working in over 180 countries. The mission of the Society is to translate, publish and distribute the Bible in various Ghanaian languages and formats and encourage its use. Since English is the official language of communication in Ghana, it was prudent to opt for a Bible in English and the local languages into which the Bible has been translated by the Bible Society of Ghana. As part of activities marking this year’s Bible Week, the Bible Society of Ghana has organized a symposium in Kumasi christened “The Bible and Integrity”. The thrust of this year’s theme for the Bible Week was to remind Christians, especially those occupying positions of trust and in governance, of the onerous responsibility to exhibit integrity in all spheres of life.
