The Institute of Directors, Ghana, IOD-GH, is calling for a licensure regime where Directors and board members of entities would have to be trained and certified before being offered appointments to corporate organisations.
This has become necessary in view of recent happenings in the financial sector especially where bad corporate governance has been identified as one of the major causes of the problems in the industry.
Speaking at the media launch of the IOD’s week celebrations in Accra, the President of the Institute, Rockson Dogbegah, said the time has come for directors and board members to be selected based on experience and competency and not on their political or social affiliation.
