The Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD Ghana), and the Denmark Embassy in Ghana have signed a Cooperation Agreement to contribute to a peaceful environment during the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections in December 2024.
The cooperation is funded from Denmark’s SDG Facility and has the following objectives:
1) To strengthen the dialogue to be undertaken by the Ghanaian media stakeholders surrounding the preparation of a National Action Plan to promote media freedom.
2) To strengthen especially young people’s engagement and awareness of fake news, misinformation and disinformation through public education including impact and policies on climate change.
3) To strengthen journalists’ understanding of climate change, including Government policies, in order to strengthen climate reporting.
This cooperation will support Ghana in making progress in realising the targets of SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and SDG 13- Climate Action.

Austrian peace researcher Franz Jedlicka argues that it is a prerequisite for a peaceful society (“The forgotten peace Formula”).
