In furtherance to expand the gospel of Christ, Cedar Mountain Chapel of the Assemblies of God Church is to construct a six thousand seating capacity auditorium at its East Legon branch.

This was made known by the Lead Pastor of the church, Reverend Stephen Yenusom Wengam, at the 10th-anniversary and the dedication of the Cedar First City Chapel and the launch of its ten years strategic plan on the theme ‘Mighty Are Your Miracles oh Lord’.

Rev Wengam said the Cedar Mountain operates under seven core values which are worship, connect, equip, passionate proclamation, spirit of Excellence and Leadership.

He said the task of the church is to disciple the nations through excellent and innovative means, thereby equipping the individual to live a fulfilling life on earth. He said the church which was started at a Restaurant at East Legon with about 120 members now has a congregation of over one thousand.

Rev Steve Wengam commended the church board and all who generously contributed towards the construction of the Cedar First City Chapel.

The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Ghana, Rev Professor Paul Crimping-Manso said with a humble beginning relating to a handful of adult members the Cedar Mountain has now assumed the place of a megachurch within the community.

He said organisations rise and fall on leadership, adding that, the ever-rising and shining leadership of the church shows the quintessential wisdom and direction associated with the leaders.

A former Chief Justice Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood commended the church for impacting many lives over the past ten years. She expressed the hope that the church would expand its evangelism to win more souls for Christ and also continue to contribute to the development of the nation.

A former General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev William Dontoh, was honoured posthumously with the naming of the ground floor of the church after him for his enormous contributions to the church.

Various individuals who contributed in diverse ways were also honoured.
