Central Region: 1,800 Census officials trained

Ahead of the population and Housing Census, 1,800 field officers recruited to assist in the exercise in the central region are undergoing a ten-day training on accurate data collection.

The Government Statistician, Prof. Samuel Kobina Anim charged the officers to take the training seriously.

The field officers will assist the Statistical Service in data collection on the census night in the Central Region. Participants include census officers, district field supervisors and district I.T officers.

They will be schooled on how to collect and monitor quality data using Information Communication Technology I.C.T.

Ahead of the census night all field officers recruited will be deployed across the country   to give serial numbers to structures.

The Government statistician, Prof. Samuel Kobina Anim, charged the field officers to exhibit professionalism during the exercise.

He appealed to  Ghanaians to fully participate in the exercise and provide the officers with accurate information to aid the Government in policy formulation.

The population and Housing Census is slated for June 27 2021.
