The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG), has called off its strike with immediate effect.
This comes on the back of voting supervised by the National Executive Committee (NEC), of the Association on September 4, 2023, in which the majority of the members voted to call off the industrial action.
President of CETAG, Prince Obeng-Himah, told GBC News, that CETAG will advise itself if by 31st of October, all the Arbitral Awards have not been implemented by the Employer, which is the Ministry of Education.
All members are expected to resume work by this week on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
CETAG had been on strike for more than a month over its conditions of service, ignoring earlier directives by the National Labour Commission to call off the strike. This led the government to freeze their August salaries. Mr. Obeng-Himah said the decision to call off the strike has nothing to do with the salary freeze.
