Chief Imam deserves a Nobel Peace Price – Assin North MP

The Member  of Parliament for  Assin North, Kennedy Ohene  Agyepong has urged Ghanaians to nominate the National Chief Imam, Dr. Shaikh  Osmanu Nuhu Shaributu for a Nobel peace award as a result of the influential role he has played in bringing peace to many parts of the country especially in Muslim  communities.

He said this when he presented quantities of rice to the Chief Imam’s office in support of the the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

 

He said “We should nominate him for a Nobel peace price, all Ghanaians  should help us do that. Look at the way he handled the issue between  Rev. Owusu Bempah and the Muslim community. He has brought a lot of peace to many parts of the  country to the extent of even going to worship at the Catholic Church to show that we are all one people despite differences in religion. I have been doing this everytime but this time I decided to come here myself as I want to be associated with him. He deserves an award”. he emphasised.

The MP also adviced muslim youths to desist from engaging in any acts that has the tendency to mar the name of Islam saying that politicians and wealthy people have on several occasions used muslims to perpetuate their evil agenda.

“Don’t allow these politicians and rich people to use you to go and fight for them, anytime they ask you to fight especially over lands, ask them where their children are”. He said.

Trinity FC cake bread also presented  items worth 15,000. 00 to the chiefs Imam’s office. The items which includes cartons of milo, bread, Toiletries and smock  to the Chief Imam.

 

The Public Relation Officer, (PRO) of the company, Rev. Kwaku Duah said they were motivated to support them with the items as a result of the patronage of their products.

He noted “Our product is patronised by all Ghanaians, especially muslims and so we have decided to support them with these products as part of our contribution towards the Eid-ul-Fitr.

Kasapreko Company Ltd. on their part donated assorted items worth millions of Ghana cedis to the office.

The items which included the company’s new products such as  water and assorted beverages.

Speaking on behalf of the company, a renowned Radio Broadcaster, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey  aka Abeiku Santana, said the company which has been in existence over the years ‘is proud to be associated with the Islamic festival and so deems it fit to support them.

Abeiku Aggrey Santana further appealed to the Chief Imam to support the company in prayers in order to continuously perform as the number one brand locally and internationally stating that Kasapreko has emerged as the 11th best brand among twenty five best brands in he world.

Also at the premises of the Chief Imam was a former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Armah Ashitey, he presented asorted products.

According to him, he has been part of the muslim celebrations over the years and would continue to support them on all occasions.

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Shaributu offered his blessings for the company.

He appealed to the  Government especially the Ghana Education Service, (GES) to reconsider it’s decision and allow muslim students in various boarding schools to join their families for the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

This he said may constitutes an infringement on their rights.

The spokesperson for the National Chief Imam,  Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu thanked all the donors for the charitable gesture  and prayed for God’s continues  blessings for the companies.
