The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, has made donations to the Akropong School for the Blind and the Demonstration School for the Deaf, Akuapim-Mampong both in the Eastern Region.
The Chief Imam also made a whistle-stop to pay homage to the Okuapehene Oseadeyo Kwasi Akufo.
At a short durbar to welcome him, the Chief Imam expressed gratitude to the Chiefs and people of Okuapem for the rousing welcome.
He reiterated his call for peace and unity among all religious groups.
The National Chief Imam, Shiekh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, was welcomed to the Palace by the Okuapehene Oseadeyo Kwasi Akufo amid pomp and pageantry. This is the first time the Chief Imam has visited Okuapeman.
He said it was a privilege to call on him and prayed for peace and unity for Okuapeman and asked for Allah’s blessings on the land.
He said Ghana as a whole has lived in peace and unity and this must continue to propel growth and development.
Okuapehene Oseadeyo Kwasi Akufo in a brief remark expressed gratitude to the Chief Imam for the honour done him.
Items donated to the Akropong School for the Blind and the Demonstration School for the Deaf, Akuapim-Mampong included bags of rice, cow, toiletries oil and cash.
The Chief Imam was accompanied by the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Acheampong; Eastern Regional Imam, Yussif Amudani Sulemana.
The visit was facilitated by the Office of the Vice President.
