The chiefs and people of Vakpo in the North Dayi District of the Volta Region have appealed to the Judiciary to expedite the trial of their citizen ACP Dr Benjamin Agordzo who has been charged with treason on an alleged coup plot.
According to them the entire traditional area has been following developments since his arrest and detention but are not happy with the delay in justice delivery and his continuous detention.
Speaking on behalf of the chiefs and people at a news conference, the Chief of Vakpo-Todzi, Togbe Awuro said the community has been thrown into a state of shock at the allegations levelled against Dr Agordzo, knowing how disciplined and law-abiding he is.
He noted that Dr. Agordzo is a role model in the community and an asset to the Ghana Police Service in terms of modern policing and as such his track record and career should not be truncated.
ACP Dr. Agordzo who is former Director of the Transformation Office of the Ghana Police Service is in detention with others in connection with an alleged plot to destabilise the country.
