Chinese Galamsey Queen Aisha Huang reappears in court today

Chinese galamsey kingpin Aisha Huang and three others standing trial at the Accra Circuit Court are scheduled to reappear today, Tuesday, 27, September 2022.

They were remanded into police custody the last time they appeared before the Court.

The Chinese woman, Aisha Huang, who was arrested in May 2017, charged for undertaking illegal mining in the country, and deported, is back in Ghana.

Aisha has been in the country operating at an illegal mining site, until her arrest in Kumasi, by National Security operatives.

She and her accomplices were immediately flown to Accra the same day and arraigned.

Aisha was put before a Circuit Court, charged with two counts of engaging in the sale and purchases of minerals without a valid licence contrary to section 99 (1) of minerals and mining (amendment) act 2015 (Act 900) and mining without licence contrary to section 99(3) of minerals and mining (amendment) act 2015, act900.

In the amended Court charged sheet of The Republic v Huang Ruixia alas Aisha Huang, Johng Li Hua, Huang Jei, Huaid Hai Hun, Aisha, and the three others pleaded not guilty to the charges.
