The Central Business District, the market circle, and other major markets in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis in the Western Region have been closed to business for a week.
The decision was taken at an emergency Joint Security Council meeting by the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, and the Effia-Kwesimintim Municipal Assembly, following the rapid spread of COVID-19.
The region has more than 300 positive cases pending 2000 results.
