The Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Ransford Abbey, has begun a 3-day working tour of the Western North and South Cocoa Regions, aimed at deepening engagement with cocoa farmers and COCOBOD staff in the area.
The tour kicked off on Tuesday April 22, 2025 with a visit to Atronsu in the Sefwi Bekwai District, where Dr. Abbey interacted directly with cocoa farmers.

He offered words of encouragement and commended their hard work and dedication to sustaining Ghana’s cocoa industry.
During the engagement, Dr. Abbey hinted at a possible enhancement in the producer price of cocoa for the 2025/2026 Cocoa Season, a move that would come as welcome news to farmers across the country.

He later visited the Boako Cocoa Station, where he assessed ongoing operations and met with staff to discuss strategies for improving service delivery and productivity.
The tour is expected to cover six more cocoa districts over the next two days, with more farmer interactions and meetings with COCOBOD regional staff. The initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen the cocoa sector and ensure the welfare of farmers and stakeholders
