Corporate Ladies Association of Ghana, CoLAG inaugurated

Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has urged newly elected executives of the Corporate Ladies Association of Ghana (CoLAG), to have the courage to drive change in society.

Speaking at the inauguration of the association and its executives in Accra, Madam Agyemang Rawlings said courageous women are always key in a nation’s development.

The Corporate Ladies Association of Ghana, CoLAG, was established on February 5, 2024, with the aim of advocating for the welfare of women in institutions, promoting gender equality, and contributing to the overall advancement of the country.

After being registered on February 6 this year under the Companies Act 2019 (Act 992) has been welcoming all institutional ladies’ associations to create a united front and promote collaboration among women leaders.

Speaking at the official launch of the association, the Former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, emphasised the need for a united women’s front in achieving a collective goal.

Madam Konadu urged the newly instituted leaders to live an exemplary life that will inspire others.

She said, “work hard to leave a legacy. Embrace each other’s strengths, support one another, to achieve your vision.”

The Chief Director at the Ministry of Energy, Mrs. Wilhemina Asamoah, said the establishment of the CoLAG will create a more eco-friendly environment for women to thrive.

She said with CoLAG on board, “women’s voices will be fully heard and respected.”

She, however, urged women and members of the association not to relent on their zeal of contributing meaningfully to society’s development.
