Residents of Wa West District in the Upper West Region are calling on government to complete projects started by the previous administration in the district.

The abandoned projects include E-block Senior High school facility at Dorimon under the Ghana Education Trust Fund, a health center for Veri community, and six unit class block for Bungberi and its surrounding communities.

Speaking to the media during a visit to the project sites, the Assembly Member for Bungberi Electoral Area, Nicholas Gyirikor said the delay in completing those projects is seriously impeding effective teaching and learning in the district and provision of quality health care.

The abandoned E-block facility at Dorimon under the Ghana Education Trust Fund project, GET-Fund was started in 2015/2016.

It is expected to make secondary education more accessible to the rural communities when completed.

Almost five years into the project, it is yet to be completed.

The Assembly Member for Bungberi Mr Gyirikor said the infrastructure deficit resulting from the double track system could have been addressed if the E-block were completed.

He said the primary school at Bungberi is still at the foundation level compelling pupils to study under trees.

Speaking on health, the in Charge for Veri Community Health Center,Saeed Mohammed Siibu expressed worry about the state of the facility.

He said the facility has been upgraded from CHPS Compound to health center but less attention is given to improve its service delivery.

The facility is currently using an old Day Nursery school for its service delivery. Meanwhile there is a new infrastructure which is almost completed but has been abandoned since 2016.

He appeal to government to complete the project to enhance effective health care delivery in the area.

The health center which serve about eleven communities also lack logistics and some specialize staff to handle other complicated health issues.
