COP 26: Samira Bawumia on Gender Day in Scotland

Gender Day at COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland, shifted attention to advancing gender sensitive policies and addressing the inequalities in the climate space that negatively affect women and girls.

A Global Ambassador on Clean Cooking Alliance, Hajia Samira Bawumia, also the wife of the Vice President is upbeat to see more women empowered to take climate action. She said energy transition will not be possible without gender equality.

Mrs. Bawumia said stories on the effect of climate change across the world are not encouraging and said there is the need to adopt more strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change in the near future.
