An Accra Circuit Court has remanded One Collins Quacoo alias ‘kola’ into police custody for shooting indiscriminately at the Ablekuma Central Collation Centre on the December 7 polls.

Three persons including a journalist, Pius Kwanin, of Newswatchgh.com and Police officer incurred several injuries as a result of his shooting. He has however pleaded not guilty to the charges of handling offensive weapon and causing unlawful and intentional harm.

The defense lawyer, Faizal Cissey pleaded with the court to grant him bail as he is a public servant and works in the office of the President as a national security officer who was assigned on the very day of the incident.

He said the gun in question was given to him by his supervisor. He said they will prove their case and show to the court that he has also suffered from the huge blow from a cement block that was used to beat him when he was arrested.

The prosecution led by inspector Eric Pobi did not object to the bail.

The Presiding judge, Emmanuel Essandoh said since the victims are still in the hospital receiving treatment he will adjourn the case to one week which is the 24th of this month.
