The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA, has intercepted three Riffles concealed in three different plastic barrels declared as ‘personal effects’ at The Golden Jubilee Terminal of the Tema Port.
The consignment which was intercepted by an examination officer yesterday is undergoing due diligence at the terminal before the final exit from the Port.
The weapons which were intercepted at about 4:30 pm were declared as personal effects by the consignee.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, a Revenue Officer at the Customs Division of the GRA, Charles Okrah, said the riffles have since been confiscated while investigation has commenced into the case.
Mr Okrah, said the Division has not alerted the consignee about the development since it is perceived that the individual is already aware of what is in the consignment.
