The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) welcomed a high-level delegation from Smart Africa at its Accra headquarters to congratulate Acting Director-General, Mr. Divine Selase Agbeti on his recent appointment and reinforce collaborative efforts in cybersecurity and digital innovation.
The meeting centered on enhancing cooperation in cybersecurity governance, digital infrastructure development, artificial intelligence (AI), and expanding internet access to underserved communities, particularly schools and healthcare facilities.
Mr. Agbeti emphasized the CSA’s commitment to advancing Ghana’s cybersecurity agenda, stating, “Collaboration with continental partners like Smart Africa is critical to building a secure and inclusive digital ecosystem. Together, we can address emerging threats while empowering underserved communities through connectivity.”
The delegation discussed leveraging AI to bolster cyber resilience and creating frameworks to protect critical digital infrastructure across Africa.
A Smart Africa representative highlighted the partnership’s significance, noting, “Aligning Ghana’s leadership in cybersecurity with Smart Africa’s vision for a Single Digital Market ensures a unified approach to tackling continental challenges. Expanding access to education and healthcare through connectivity remains a shared priority.”
The talks also explored resource mobilization strategies to support cybersecurity capacity-building initiatives under the Africa Network of Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA), which Ghana chairs.
The engagement reaffirmed both parties’ dedication to fostering innovation and safeguarding Africa’s digital transformation, with Mr. Agbeti pledging to strengthen cross-border collaboration to combat cyber threats and promote equitable digital growth.
