Dead bodies found on streets of Kumasi were those of mentally challenged – Police

Yesterday, (April 16), the Ashanti Regional Police Command explained circumstances under which dead bodies were found on the streets of Kumasi.

According to the Head of Public Affairs, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the bodies were those of persons known to be mentally handicapped which had to be collected by the Police for preservation.

In seeking further clarification on the matter, ASP Ahianyo told George Ankrah that the deceased were picked at different locations and different days.

ASP Ahianyo asked the media to be circumspect in their reportage.
