The Director General of the Internal Audit Agency, Dr. Eric Oduro Osae says it is illegal to partake in any form of appalling activity on the beaches of Ghana.
He indicated that all sorts of illegal activities like rituals are carried out at the beaches these days and this denigrates the land.
All these he noted, are punishable by law.
Speaking on GTV Breakfast Show on Tuesday, November 8, Dr. Oduro Osae said beaches are to promote tourism, and therefore there is a need to rid them of all illegal activities to attract foreign and domestic tourists.
He said District Assemblies have by-laws that are supposed to protect and police the beaches and communities from illegal activities of pastors, ritualists and other groups and called on stakeholders to enforce the laws in order to keep the beaches safe.
