Chief and People Denkyira Wawase appeals for more police officers as they Honour Detective Chief Inspector Gati, for his 19 years of dedicated service to the Community as an officer.

The Chiefs and People of Denkyira Wawase and other 16 adjoining communities have honored Detective Chief Inspector Israel Gati, for his selfless, dedication and professional service to the Wawase and other adjoining communities.

According to them, Inspector Gati, is one of the only 4 police officers in the area, whose dedication to work has not only ensured development in the area but promoted peace and unity in various homes. 

They are therefore making a passionate appeal to the IGP to honor officers who are serving as good ambassadors to the police service such as Inspector Gati, and also send many more police officer to the area as Detective Gati, has been transferred from the town. There was a durbar to honor him at Denkyira Wawase near Twifo Praso.

Accepting postings to rural communities by Public and Civil servants is a challenge.

However, Chief Inspector Isreal Gati, accepted postings to Denkyira Wawase as recruit constable on the 15th Oct. 2004 and remained there to date, although others went there and left.

He has risen through the ranks and is currently a Detective Chief Inspector. 

The Denkyira Wawase, near Twifo Praso, is a community of more than two-thousand inhabitants. 

The police station is not only responsible for the town but other 16 adjoining communities including Mfuom, Ankako, Tweapiase, Gyankabo with only four Officers including Chief Inspector, Gati who has now been transferred from the town. 

Since the station’s inception, Israel is the only officer to have run through the ranks to become Chief Inspector. 

According to the people, his social behavior, humility and approachable traits with gifted problem-solving skills which has won him a lot of respect from both young and elderly people.

According to the youth of the area, the transfer of Detective Chief Inspector Gati will leave a vast vacuum not only in the area of peace and security but development. 

Some youth and elders spoke with our correspondent before the durbar.

At the durbar of chiefs and people from all the other communities, including politicians and opinion leaders, the communities acknowledged Inspector Gati’s dedication to his work and quality of service and appreciated him.

They, however, pleaded with the IGP to honor him for them and bring more officers to the area as he leaves.
