The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Naana Eyiah, has assured persons whose documents are currently being processed at the Sekondi office of the Administrator of Stool Lands and Valuation that their documents are secured despite a fire outbreak at the office over the weekend.

The fire razed the over 100-year-old structure on Sunday morning.

The Deputy Minister who inspected the office after the fire said personnel will do their best to trace all documents.

The Western Regional Lands Officer, Seth Owusu in an earlier interview with Citi News said that some of the documents may be secured by their automatic backup system but noted that the difficulty would be tracing those documents that were not backed up.

It took firemen nearly four hours to douse the fire.

The Second-in-Command of the Western Regional Fire Service, DO1 Veronica Naa Adjeley Korle also told Citi News they suspect the inferno might have been intensified because the structure was made of wood.

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Naana Eyiah said the government will make arrangements to get the office of the Administrator of Stool Lands and Valuation a new office.
