Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has impressed women leaders to leverage opportunities that the digital evolution presents to unlock and tap the potential in the global economy.
He indicated that with a large number of women population, there is a need to champion equal access to inclusiveness and diversity to drive sustainable growth.
Speaking at the Ghana Female C.E.O Summit in Accra, Dr Bawumia said Ghana and the world at large cannot benefit from the fourth industrial revolution if women are who are the majority are excluded stressing that it will be an exercise in futility.
In this regard, government is focused on improving Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM education especially for women to equip them with the requisite skills for the job market.
The summit which focused on “Leading Ghana’s Digital Renaissance: Women CEOs Shaping the Future of Business and Innovation”brought together female CEOs and executives to exchange knowledge, wisdom, and successful tactics while creating deep connections to motivate the future generation of females. It also seeks to explore the role of women in driving digital transformation and innovation in the business landscape of Ghana.
Vice President Bawumia said the digital age offers a lot of opportunities for those who are bold enough to cease them, stressing the need to harness the power of technology to drive sustainable growth and empower communities to build a brighter future for all. He reiterated calls for stakeholders to ensure that women have equal access to resources, opportunities and support systems to enable them to thrive.
Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei Opare said in this era of technology, women must redefine boundaries of what is possible as they are the architects of change despite the challenges. She encouraged women to put in more effort that will empower them to do exploits.
The Convener of the event, Claudia Lumor in a welcome address said 7th edition of the summit aims to explore the role of women in driving digital transformation and innovation in the business landscape of Ghana.
She expressed gratitude to the Vice President for gracing the occasion.
Organized by Glitz Africa, the Female CEOs Summit over the years has been a platform for impactful conversations and personalities, redefining the landscape of executive leadership in Ghana.
