The Ministry of the Interior has declared Friday, April 18, 2025, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as statutory public holidays in Ghana.
In a statement issued on Monday, Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak confirmed the two dates, marking Good Friday and Easter Monday, will be observed nationwide.
Good Friday, commemorated by Christians around the world, marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and is observed as a day of mourning and reflection. Easter Monday, the day following Easter Sunday, celebrates the resurrection and is traditionally associated with family gatherings and outdoor events.
The Ministry urged the public to observe the holidays in accordance with the country’s laws and customs.
