The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced that special voting for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections will take place on Monday, December 2.

The announcement was made by EC Chairperson Jean Adukwei Mensa during a meeting with national executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and representatives of the security forces in Accra on Tuesday, May 28.

“The special voting will be held on Monday 2nd December 2024 in all the 275 constituencies in the country,” she stated.

The EC has urged relevant institutions and individuals with valid reasons to apply for special voting rights between June 17 and July 1.

This special voting opportunity is intended for specific groups, including members of the military, police, Immigration Service, Prisons Service, Customs Division of the GRA, and Fire Service.

Mrs. Mensa emphasized that special voting would not be granted automatically and that eligible individuals must apply to be considered.
