President of Imani Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has stated that he believes the ECG boss Dubik Mahama did a good job while in office until the sabotages that started coming his way were too much for him to handle.
Franklin Cudjoe made this statement on the back of the sudden resignation of the CEO of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Dubik Mahama saying that there was frustration on his part which included instructing him to buy fuel from specified entities.
The Imani Africa boss mentioned that he was not surprised at all when he heard the ECG boss had resigned voluntarily. He said in an interview on GTV Breakfast Show that, to be working in state institutions, one needs to be backed by spiritual power.
He further revealed that there was a lot of subterfuge and backbiting going on that Dubik Mahama once confided in him saying, he would resign if he ever lost the support of President Akufo-Addo.
According to the Imani Africa boss, it was a deliberate sabotage during the time the country was facing severe dumsor because Mahama was raising money substantially when the sabotage started coming in hence, the dumsor.
Metaphorically speaking, he reiterated that the sink had sunk for so long so it was about time Dubik Mahama left.
For the background to the story, Samuel Dubik Mahama, the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has resigned from his position, effective two weeks from the date of his resignation letter. Mahama expressed gratitude to the Board and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the opportunity to serve.
During his two-year tenure, Mahama faced challenges, including a prepaid meter billing system issue and a GH¢10.21 billion loss in 2022. Despite these challenges, he made progress, retrieving over GH¢2 billion in debt in one month.
