The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says it has extended its working hours at all district offices from Saturday 1st October 2022 from 9am to 4pm and Sunday 2nd October, 2022 from 9am to 4pm.
A statement issued in Accra on Friday, September 30, 2022 the move is due to ”the technical challenge that affected the purchases of power”.
”……………Prepayment metering system that due to the technical challenge affecting smooth service provision to prepaid customers, the company will extend its working hours at all district offices Saturday 1st October from 9am to 4pm and Sunday 2nd October 9am to 4pm”.
According to the ECG, it is on track ”to rectify the anomaly and ensure a smooth service provision.”.
The situation:
Some aggrieved ECG prepaid customers say they can no longer cope with the frustration they are going through in an effort to purchase power for their meters.
For some time now, prepaid customers have had to endure the hustle of purchasing power of ECG Service Stations, due to network challenges.
Meanwhile, service has been restored to a number of districts.
Some customers who shared their frustration with GBC News said they can no longer cope with the difficulties, ”as the situation is affecting socio-economic movement”.
