The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) has announced a massive revenue mobilization exercise, dubbed “Operation Keep The Lights On”, aimed at recovering debts from customers in arrears and inspecting prepaid meters.

The exercise, which begins on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, and ends on Friday, January 31, 2025, will cover all ECG operational areas. Customers who owe debts will be targeted, and their prepaid meters will be inspected to ensure their integrity.

ECG has warned that self-reconnection after disconnection is a criminal offense, and customers are advised to cooperate with the company’s staff during the exercise.

To ensure the success of the exercise, ECG’s regional and district offices will operate with a lean staff pool, providing essential services to customers.

The company has cited the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission’s LI (2413), which grants ECG full access to its installations, and has urged customers to cooperate with its staff.

The “Operation Keep The Lights On” exercise is part of ECG’s efforts to recover debts and ensure the integrity of its prepaid meters. Customers are advised to settle their debts and cooperate with ECG staff to avoid any disruptions to their electricity supply.
