The Chairman of the Krobo Youth Group, Isaac Tamateye Otu who doubles as the Klomahengme has described as welcoming news the Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG’s decision to restore power after 16 days of darkness.
He says the two Municipalities will only believe the power company when the lights are truly restored since this is not the first time such an assurance has been given.
The agreement to restore power was brokered by the National Security at a meeting, attended by officials of the ECG and Paramount Chiefs among other stakeholders.
The two municipalities have been plunged into darkness for 16 days because Electricity Company of Ghana switched off feeders supplying power to communities in the two Municipalities over illegal connections and disagreement over bills.
Mr. Otu said lives and resources lost cannot be recovered.
Mr. Tamateye Otu refuted claims that people in the Krobo area have refused to pay their bills saying they will pay the right bills when ECG cleans its system and gives them the actual bills.
He urged the people to pay the right bills and allow installation of the prepaid meters.
