The first batch of Ghanaian youth, numbering fifty (50), trained in Cable TV installations organised by the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) Commission in Ghana, have passed out.

According to the organisers, the trainees were selected from communities within Greater Accra.

Speaking in an interview with the media after the passing out ceremony, the Resident Representative of the ECOWAS Commission in Ghana, Ambassador Baba Gana Wakil, explained that the training was nonresidential.

“We are having only youth from the Greater Accra region and not other regions partaking in these five days intensive practical hands on training based on the fact that this is a non-residential course,” he added.

But the Resident Representative of the ECOWAS Commission in Ghana hinted that his outfit will soon replicate the training in other regions for the benefit of all citizens.

Ambassador Wakil, addressing the trainees, admonished them to utilise the opportunity given them well.

“I wish to congratulate all of you for going through this intensive training for the past one week. This is just the beginning of your career journey, so take with you whatever you have learned to ensure your stay here doesn’t go waste. Congratulations once more,” he reiterated.
