President John Mahama has appointed Mr. Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo as the acting Commissioner of the Gaming Commission of Ghana effective from January 22, 2025.
The announcement was contained in a letter signed and issued by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President on Wednesday, January 22.
This appointment is in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 67 of the Gaming Act, 2006 (Act 721).
The appointment, the letter said, is temporary, pending the receipt of constitutionally required advice from the governing Board of the Gaming Commission, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
Mr. Quainoo has been asked to indicate his acceptance or otherwise of the appointment within fourteen (14) days of receiving the letter.
The Gaming Commission of Ghana is responsible for regulating and monitoring the gaming industry in the country, including casinos, sports betting, and lotteries.
