The Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission, Reverend Oscar Amonoo-Neizer, has been adjudged the Best Head of Covered Entities in Ghana by the Internal Audit Agency for the 2023/2024 Auditing Year .
The covered entities include Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Reverend Amonoo-Neizer was awarded by the Agency at its Annual Awards at the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
The Internal Audit Agency celebrates Reverend Amonoo-Neizer’s leadership and commitment to transparency and innovation within Ghana’s Energy Sector.
Handing over the award, the Director General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Dr Oduro Osae praised Reverend Amonoo-Neizer for his commitment to the Internal Audit Unit at the Energy Commission.
Apart from improving the internal audit control system at the Commission, he made sure he was present at all audit meetings, sought the views of the audit unit before any approval, among other activities that help to ensure adherence to best audit practices.
Reverend Amonoo-Neizer said adopting and following audit procedures help the Commission to be more efficient and economical in its expenditure, which has impacted positively in the Commission’s audit report.
He said based on what the Commission’s external auditors have done for the last few years, there have been very minimal infractions at the Commission.
He pledged to do more in working closely with the internal audit unit to ensure that the Commission continues to be efficient in its audit activities.
