Fans of Christian Atsu express their condolences following his demise

The announcement of the death of Ghanaian Footballer, Christian Atsu was received with sadness globally. After several weeks of uncertainty and anxiety following the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, ex Ghanaian footballer, Christian Atsu was found lifeless under the rubble of his apartment.
The Ghanaian footballer’s agent, Nana Sechere, on February 18, 2023, confirmed the news with a post on twitter saying, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning. My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and support.”
The tragic news of his demise, dealt a heavy blow on the hearts of many. Well wishers across the world took to twitter to express their heart felt condolences.
Nigerian comedian and Actor, Dr. Craze shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation from between himself and the deceased with the caption, “Christian Atsu has been supporting me from way back 2016. When I lost my Dad, he reached out and offered to pay my school fees till i graduated and he did 🙏🏽🙏🏽 You’ve been a good friend of mine Chris and i will surely miss you🙏🏽 I really can’t hold back the tears🙏🏽🙏🏽 Rest well Brother”
@princeganaku also recalled when his encounter with the soccer star with screenshots between himself and Christian Atsu. His caption read, “I was just telling people how i shared an appeal for funds by @Mr_Swrites for a needy student, Christian Atsu reached out on IG for the boy’s number. I just…[sigh]. RIP man”.
Another Tweep, @stvrDenzel, shared some photos of the former Chelsea player, saying, “You promised to tell us about how your time at Chelsea ended when you retire but your life has ended prematurely. RIP Christian Atsu 🙏🏽🕊💔”
@andydotcom_gh, a broadcast journalist and sports/political show host emphasized, “Christian Atsu gave everything on the pitch and also made sure he was a better human being off the pitch. Two years ago,he brought a huge pile of football boots from himself and a few teammates to Ghana to donate to charity. “RIP Christian Atsu 💔🕊 #ChristianAtsu” with a photo attachment of Atsu sitting behind a pile of football boots intended to be donated to charity.
Several football teams in Europe and across the world also expressed their sincerest condolences to the relatives, friends and fans of the deceased.
