Farmers whose farms were destroyed by floods a week ago in the Upper West Region are appealing to government to support them with seeds and fertilizer to enable them to replant their crops.

Speaking to GBC News at Nadowli, the farmers said life will be very difficult for them if government does not go to their aid on time with inputs such as improved seeds and fertilizer so that they can restore their farms.

They made the appeal when the Upper West Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih presented relief items to the 336 displaced persons through their assembly members.

Correspondent Sualah Abdul-Wahab reports that this is the first relief item the displaced persons are receiving since the floods occurred a week ago.
